Prior to players returning Parents will be required to sign a general release and waiver of claims
(included in registration link)
Coaches, players, parents, and spectators shall follow all federal, state and local and FH Softball requirements and guidelines regarding COVID-19 protocols at fields and for all team activities. Coaches, players, parents, and spectators shall practice social distancing (defined as individuals not part of the same family unit maintaining a distance of 6 feet or more apart from all other individuals) on and off the field during all team activities, except when on the field in the normal course of play. Coaches, players, parents, and spectators must adhere to all requirements and guidelines from federal, state and local authorities regarding potential state travel restrictions and stay-at-home orders.
Coaches, players, parents, and spectators must follow these CDC guidelines:
● Stay at home if you are sick or do not feel well. ● Use social distancing and maintain at least 6 feet between individuals
● Cover mouth if coughing or sneezing.
● Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating, and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
● Use hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.
● Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands. Any Coach, player, parent, or spectator who is experiencing symptoms of sickness will be prohibited from participating in and attending team activities.
CDC symptoms include:cough,shortness of breath or difficulty breathing ,fever, chills, muscle pain, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.
Any team member with positive signs or symptoms of COVID-19 will not be allowed to participate in any team activity. If these signs or symptoms are exhibited during a team activity, the manager will send home the affected individual immediately. coaches, or players who have exhibited these symptoms shall be allowed to resume participation in team activities if they: show no signs or symptoms of COVID-19 in the past 14 days and have had no close sustained contact with anyone who is sick withing 14 days of beginning team activities. Any coach, player or parent that has had a documented case of COVID-19, will need a note from their doctor indicating they are cleared to participate in team activities. Any coach, parent or player or family member that is showing symptoms or diagnosed with COVID-19 MUST notify the teams coach who will notify the FH Commissioner immediately
Game Day Return to Play:
Ft. Hunt Softball will supply for each team (coaches and players) hand sanitizer and equipment sanitizer. Parents are encouraged to provide their player with their own hand sanitizer and wipes.
The team playing defense will provide game balls for their team. Balls will be sanitized after each game/practice.
Coaches should wear masks when not able to socially distance themselves from players. ie in the dugout, first and third base coaches etc.
Each player shall have their own equipment, including helmet, bat, face mask, catchers gear (if applicable)and glove Sharing of equipment will not be allowed. Please see our Equipment Swap/Sale tab for info on obtaining gear if needed. Each player should provide their own water, with name on it.
Each team will assign a COVID Coach/Parent - who will be responsible for helping coaches and player with maintaining proper social distancing, reminding players/parents/coaches of social distancing on the bleachers, hand sanitizing, wearing of masks (by spectators and coaches) wiping down bleachers and dugouts before and after games and making sure that all trash and other items are removed from the dugout after games/practices.
Dugouts are closed to players. Equipment will be lined up the back of the dugout and along the fence line. Players will sit on the bleaches (on marks provided) or with their parents. Dugouts are reserved only for coaches, and the player at bat, on deck batter and in the hole batter. NO PARENTS, SIBLINGS OR SPECTATORS are allowed in the dugout or bleacher areas. Parent interaction with their child should take place in their families "spectator area" not the team area.
If a parent needs to speak to their player they should reach out to a coach or the Covid Parent to have their child sent over to them.
No spectators shall enter the field of play
All spectators shall use their own chairs. Bleacher seating and areas behind home plate are closed to spectators. Spectators are encouraged to maintain socially distant spaces between families and spectators are encouraged to wear a mask or other face covering until federal, state or local authorities declare that masks are no longer recommended.
After a game, coaches and players will wave to the opposing team instead of post game high fives.
No team snacks or meals are allowed prior to or after games.
Please remember these guidelines are for everyone's safety!!! - We want our girls to PLAY if we don't comply with the guidelines setforth by we may have to terminate the season. Fairfax County employees are doing regular checks of the fields to ensure proper social distancing of players and families.
